The third edition of the Nigeria Emergency Response and Counter-Terrorism Workshop (NERCT) will be held in Abuja on October 6-7, 2016. Once again, members of the Nigerian and international security communities are invited to discuss and find solutions to Nigeria’s security problems. It is with great pleasure that we announce the return of the Nigeria Emergency Response and Counter-Terrorism Workshop in 2015. Following a hiatus due to the Ebola epidemic in 2014, NERCT will once again be held and will discuss issues such as Boko Haram, Sahel security, intelligence, emergency response and civilian security. The workshops will focus on finding solutions to these issues that will quickly be useful for practitioners and therefore help create a most secure and stable environment. It is with regret that the organizers of NERCT have decided to postpone the 2014 event indefinitely. This decision was made after taking into account the current situation of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa and Nigeria, as well as the concerns expressed by our various partners about the epidemic. We understand the risks for all those that wish to attend the event and for those responsible for the excellence of NERCT, and therefore believe this is the right course of action.
