Registration for NERCT 2017 at University of Lagos now open

Nigeria is unfortunately often considered one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Terrorism, communal violence, kidnapping, poverty, hunger, disease, corruption, major crimes, theft, arson and militia violence are part, in some form or the other, of the daily lives of Nigerians. Wishing to contribute to a reversal of this situation, the Nigeria Emergency Response and Counter-Terrorism Workshop (NERCT) was created in 2013 with the goal to bring together Nigerian and international practical and analytical security expertise to find solutions to Nigeria’s insecurity.

For its 4th edition, NERCT will be held for the first time in Lagos, within the academic halls of the University of Lagos on October 11-12, 2017. For this occasion, we are opening the event to the public and allowing anyone who registers to contribute to the discussions of NERCT 2017.

The topics for NERCT 2017 include, but are not limited to:

  • Women and Boko Haram: Victims and Perpetrators
  • Connecting the Dots: Terrorism from Nigeria to Libya
  • Civilian Security: Are Vigilante Groups a growing Threat to Nigeria?
  • Is the Nigerian Army overwhelmed by Nigeria’s Security Situation?
