New City, New Format, New Partner: NERCT returns in October 2017

It is with great pleasure that we announce the return of the Nigeria Emergency Response and Counter-Terrorism Workshop (NERCT) for a 4th edition in 2017. Buoyed by our new partner Unilag Consult Ltd of the University of Lagos, NERCT will be held for the first time in Nigeria’s metropolis on October 11-12, 2017. Also for the first time, NERCT organisers made a “call for papers” that will allow practitioners and researchers to present their work to a larger public.

As with previous NERCT editions, the workshop will thrive to contribute practical, usable solutions to the massive insecurity issues that plague Nigeria today. Some of the topics that will be discussed at this year’s event include women and Boko Haram, terrorism from Nigeria to Libya, civilian security and vigilante groups, and improving collaboration between security branches.

Registration for the event is now open for the “early bird” rate of 40,000N that includes participation, catering and access to the networking event on October 11. Registration can be made here or by clicking the “Registration” tab on this page.

We are delighted to be contributing once again to improving the security situation in Nigeria and to be joined by such a highly regarded partner as Unilag Consult Ltd in this endeavour. But no imput will be more important than the one of NERCT participants, and therefore we hope you will join us in large numbers to help make Nigeria safer.
